Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –

The government has officially started the program vaccination after the first injection Corona vaccine President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), yesterday, Wednesday (13/1). This vaccination is supposed to reduce the spread of diseases Covid-19 (Coronavirus).

The government is preparing 70 percent of Indonesia’s population, or approximately 181 million people, for injections of vaccines to achieve herd community goals or community immunity. Again, a person will receive two vaccinations.

This means that at least 362 million vaccines are made by the government. With a reserve of 1

5 percent of demand, total vaccine procurement reaches 416.3 million doses.

Given the large number of corona vaccines that need to be distributed, Indonesian Logistics and Forwarders Association (ALFI) chairman general Yukki Nugrahawan Hanafi believed that logistics should be a collective work. Not just the government.

Based on experience with the vaccines being held (non-corona vaccine), the government only distributes 43.9 million doses per year.

Therefore, he assessed that the government must have a mature and detailed distribution pattern. In addition, the distribution cannot be done according to the usual logistical scheme, but cooling systems are required to maintain the quality of the vaccines transported.

Yuki suggested a number of ideas, infrastructures and delivery options. Firsthe suggested first identifying a number of points or centers for vaccine distribution (hubs) in major cities in Indonesia. These hubs are responsible for delivering vaccines to the target counties / cities.

The vaccine hub is then transported to the hospital (RS) where the prospective recipient is located. He did not recommend keeping vaccine stocks in the respective provincial health departments (Dinkes) because the facilities and infrastructure of the individual health offices were not evenly distributed.

According to him, miscalculations in shipping could have dire consequences, including storing vaccines in a place with no refrigeration facilities.

Vaccines should also be kept in a box or kept Container especially those who have received good drug manufacturing practice (CPOB) certification and approval from the POM. Corona vaccine cannot be stored in normal cooling containers.

Remember, Indonesia plans to use vaccines from different brands and countries. The requirements for temperature storage also vary from minus 5 degrees to minus 70 degrees Celsius.

“If we are asked to bring containers with minus 60 degrees, we are ready. The containers are not in Indonesia, but the government does not have to buy them, they can be rented through an agreement. The process can be opened later,” said Yukki CNNIndonesia.comWednesday (13/1).

SecondHe went on to use technology-based deployment patterns. Monitoring is just as important as getting vaccines. It is useless for the government to get hundreds of millions of vaccines in place, but their implementation in the field is not optimal.

Monitoring can only be done in real time by relying on digitization. Using this pattern, he said that every vaccine to be injected has a barcode that is identified by a specific person.

Thus the ration for each vaccine is clearly based on name and place of residence (by name, by address) and feasible pursuit (persecution) anyone who has had one, two or no vaccinations.

This monitoring system can be used for assessment. For example, if post-immunization side effects or post-immunization (AEFI) events occur, the government can find out which vaccines are injected into people with AEFI.

Yukki is optimistic that the digitization system can be implemented. He admitted that the system is not complicated and can be prepared in a month. He again called on the government to be open to the obstacles it faces if the vaccination distribution system is to be pursued collectively.

“Nothing is too late, this is just the beginning. It seems that many companies have already monitored not only vaccines but also branded items. Vaccines (can be monitored) until they are injected,” he added.

thirdWhen facilities in a particular area are inadequate, he advises the government to keep vaccines in locations with maximum security, such as airports or ports that are restricted areas.

This suggestion can be made because each province has its own airport or port. In his view, the fewer places available for vaccines, the easier the government’s surveillance will be.

From the airport / port, the new vaccine will be transported gradually according to the schedule set in the system. Therefore, the vaccine does not stay long in the health department or health center where the safety system may not be guaranteed.

FourthTreatment and disposal of waste after vaccination. He reminded the government to prepare a waste treatment system for medical devices from now on.

If the waste treatment system from syringes to vaccine bottles is not mapped, he fears that there will be rogue elements to take advantage of the situation.

There is also much to prepare, but Yuki believes the vaccination program can go well, indicating that planning must be done from now on.

He hopes that the government will be more open in the vaccination process in the future so that distribution problems can be solved together.
